GROUNDED

When you are trying to decide where to attend college, should you listen to your heart or choose the most logical choice?
I am trying to decide between a university that is in the quarter system (located far away from home) and a university that is in the semester system (near my home). my heart tells me to go to the quarter system, but my experience and mind tells me to attend the semester system school. Semester system is longer to study. I do not know what to do. I do not want to get lost spiritually, I simply want to obtain my education and honor God with it.

When you are trying to make a decision and you feel peace in your heart, that means that your decision is correct?
Can you help me?

Hey Beatriz,

I can releate to your situation. I was going through a time where I was trying to figure our what I wanted to major in as a career. I was in a bind between Nursing and Ministry. I prayed about it for a while and he spoke to me and now he has blessed me with the school to attend and also financial aid. I asked him to speak to my heart and tell me which way to go and he spoke to me by saying "this is the way" it was plane as day. Then in my mind I rememberd the verse of something simimlar to it. Its is found in deturomony. "this is the way walk in it". So I know that I am doing Gods will. I trust in him with my whole heart and he supplies all of me needs..So to answer your question, I would pray to God and asked him what his will is for your life and to lead you and guide you the way he wants you to go. Listen to God and follow him his way is always best he will never steer you wrong. He wants you to take the quickest route that will held to get you to where he wants you to be. I will pray for you. Take care and I know everything will work out according to Gods will and purpose that he has for your life.

Beatriz,
Along with prayer, you should look at the pros and cons of your choices. Attending a university away from home sounds like an adventure, it would also give you the opportunity to witness to different folks. Since I left high school I have never been to a university, I chose to do correspondence courses. I must tell now, that I have regretted this decision to an extent.

I miss out on some great opportunities. So like I said check out the pros and cons, perhaps after looking at that you might be in a better position to decide and God's will be clearer. Will keep you in my prayers. Let me know when you decide.
Avi.

I believe most colleges are in the semester system. Sometimes if you go to a college and end up not liking it, the classes don't transfer from one system to the other. Another thing I've noticed is that it was harder for me to stray when I went to a college closer to my home. (I attended three different colleges.)

I have had the same problem recently. I am a Senior this year. My district opened a new high school down the street from my house this school year. I decided to leave my old school and attend this new school. I was curious and was wanted to be the first graduated. I find myself with a lot of problems and really disliking my new school. I miss my old school so much friends, teachers almost everything there is BETTER . I have already withdraw from my new school to go back to my new one. I am suppose to go to my old school tomorrow and enroll there. I went to church today and the Lord has spoke to me. I tried to resist it, but I know I have to obey the Lord. He told me at the alter call to GO BACK. I start to ask him I already withdrawn I already told people and he replied " Let me worry about everything else, go back and I will make sure everything is done" . Even the process of me attending my old school is by nearly complete I will be enrolling there tomorrow. I don't want to go back to the new school, but I need to be obedient and do as the Lord says. I came over this statement.

-- Changing our location does not change us. We can’t run away from our problems. If we need to change, we just might need to change our selves first, not merely our circumstances. We might need to pray for a clean and godly heart of love, and then take that clean heart wherever life leads us, not where we think there might be more spiritual glory.

Even though my I want to go back to my old school because , I loved it there. I feel God has put me in these different situations for a reason and has a plan for my life. I will obey him and do whatever his will . Hope this helps you .
