GROUNDED

Hi! Here in our country, we have some few thoughts about a controversy that many preachers are talking about. A Christian sect in here says that their church is the only church that will be saved. Another one says that theirs will be saved, but they also say that some people out of their church will be saved. We are very confused  because both claim as adherents of the 1st century church. Our church say that a person will be saved regardless of his/her faith but said in Mat. 7:6, Do not give what is holy to the dogs... saying that the dogs pertaining to those who are out of the real church could never share the gift of salvation. Is there really only one true church that will be saved?

actually it is those who confess with their mouth that God is the creator of Universe and that Jesus Christ who was crucified for a sins. Died and rose again in three days and now sits at the right hand of God and that it is through him we find salvation.

however this is also not enough you must live the life and carry your cross.

Christian Mac Juane - Remember what the Spirit told Paul when he wrote regarding what the church really means. The church is the Body of Christ. Keyword being " of Christ ". As Joji Ratuva said, all who call our Lord, Jesus and believed in his death and resurrection will be saved, but theres more.

As for the church. The Holy Spirit is the one who truly testifies to us who will be saved, it is a kind of inner security that we have IN Christ THROUGH the Spirit that we are branded by his Holy Image. It is wrong to condemn if we are not there to properly examine other churches. We have to humble ourselves to everyone and not live telling who will and who will not be saved, for salvation is individual. But rather let us live according to what the Spirit tells us in Christ's name, for there lies the truth all in all..

And to directly answer your question. Yes, there is only ONE church that will be saved and that is the Body of Christ.

Amen Edgar and Joji, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Him. John 14:6 Church is absolutely needed, but not necessary for salvation. Of coarse without it you will have a very hard time in your walk with Christ. We are meant to be part of a body, so we can mature in our walk with Christ and become all God wants us to be. Plus the support and love of fellow believers helps us greatly. However salvation comes through Christ alone. Religion can never get you to God, only Jesus can.

I just posted this question because two large denominations say that those in their faith will be the only ones to be saved.

The church is the body of Christ and we are meant to be part of body. In the Bible says "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer"Act:2:42 this is the fellowship of the believers.
We meeting for study his word, and practice it, that is very important, for remember HIS son die for us.
We need the church for meeting and do all this things. You can read in the word of God, that is the only truth.
A lot of people go to church but when is done the service, they forget all the sermon. The enemy always try to destroy, the church, you will listen many things but you have to seek God, put your sight in God, don't pay attention other things, His truth is in the Bible, obey HIM and surrender your life to HIM.

Hi. Let me introduce my self first, I am Arjay Gayo, a youth from Wesleyan Church here in the Philippines. To your question "Is there really only one true church that will be saved? ".My answer is NO.
First thing that we must realize is that salvation is a "gift" for everybody. John 3:16 says" that WHOSOEVER believes in him". The term whosoever refers to everyone of us. Salvation ranges the following: acceptance of our LORD JESUS CHRIST as our personal Lord and Savior, repenting and confessing our sins, and having faith and committing everything to our God in which we must live a Holy life for Jesus commanded "Be holy for I am Holy". In Eph. 2:8 it states that by faith we could be save.
The church plays a big role for our salvation. But we must realize that "The Church is not a building or any certain denomination, but is all born again believers, from the day of Pentecost to the 2nd. coming of Jesus Christ. It is the body of Christ, of which he is head ( Ephesians 1:22-23 ). As such, the church is a temple for the habitation of the Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 2:21-23 ) and is espoused, as a chaste virgin to Christ ( 2 Corinthians 11:2-4 ) and will be translated to meet the Lord in the air at his 2nd. coming ( 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 )."(taken from http://biblestudycourses.net/some_things_to_realize.htm).
Salvation could be attain not through the church, but it could be achieve only through Jesus Christ who clearly states "I am the WAY.....NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME". Everyone has a chance to be saved no matter in what denomination or church you belong. Just open your life to Jesus, For Jesus said "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and open the door, I will come into him and dine with me, and he with Me"

GOD BLESS EVERYONE....TO GOD BE THE GLORY.........

I'll quote your question, Is there really only one true church that will be saved? The answer is yes, there is only one church on the earth which is the true Church, the body of the living Christ; the body of believers sanctified through the blood of the Lamb of God. This congregation, bought by Christ's blood, carefully follows the oracles which He left while He walked on this earth, and which He revealed unto His chosen prophets from the ancient past; they hold Him as Lord and Savior, as the supreme Head of the church, King of kings and Lord of lords, Creator of the universe who has been from everlasting to everlasting; He who lived without sin, was crucified shamefully, and arose victorious over death, hell, and the grave: that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish in the burning hell, but have eternal life like Him; who ascended unto the heavens to sit at the right hand of His Father, who sent His Holy Spirit to dwell on them that obey His saving gospel, sealed forever upon belief unto that day when He cometh, and them that repented go with Him to His home, and them that disobeyed and rejected Him go to their new home, in a lake of fire, forever to burn, forever to torture. Yes, there is only one true Church, and that is the true bride of the King. Any assembly which claims to follow Christ, and to be the heavenbound, yet falters in these points, is deceived, and deceives the people.

Truly, there is more to say, but I will stop here. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
