I think I and your friend have the same struggle now and keeps on bothering me too. Well, what I have learned as I go on is to be at the side of Christ for I know He will never leave me. He is our REFUGE right? so I think you should tell your friend not to lose her faith inspite of all the things she's been going through and that always keep in mind how great Our God is that He will not let us experience anything horrible if we go on in accordance to His will. Godbless.

Hey Everyone,

Have these 2 scriptures memorize and read them out. Also, if you have a journal write the scriptures in your book, locker, mirror, etc.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

Remember, whenever you are fearful... Jesus is with YOU.

There's a short little book by Joyce Meyer that has a bunch of scriptures and teachings to help overcome "emotional battles" called, Help Me I'm Afraid. Here's the link where you can preview it and/or purchase it (very inexpensive): This may be helpful for your friend...

I've dealt with the issue of being fearful different times throughout my life (particularly in elementary and at some point in college) and it's real. But it is also "overcome-able." I learned (in the middle of an anxiety attack) that we have to make a concious decision to accept who we are--children of the most high God and remember 1 John 4:4, which says, "You are of God...He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." Stand firm against the devil with all the strength you have and call on Jesus. One verse that I found to be particularly helpful (and interesting in NLT version), that is also posted on my page is Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Isn't that awesome? When you say that out loud...you get some confidence :o) and you start to think in the right perspective. Also, Joshua 1:9 -- (the Lord gave me this one at Vacation Bible School! It was the kids' memory verse for the week): Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

My advice is to quote these scriptures out loud--reminding yourself and declaring it--whenever you're afraid (and even when you aren't, so it gets in your spirit). Thank God for His reassurring Word and ask Him to make it real in your life. Let's pray for one another regarding this. I've gotten fed up with fear--it is not part of me--and I do not accept it. I've asked God to take it from me eventhough He didn't give it -- cause I don't want it! Amen.

my friend...
perfect love casts out fear..

ask your friend how she/he looks at GOD

is GOD an authoritative!?
or
is GOD a loving father!?

God do not condemn, we are...
tell her what is GODs grace...

God's grace is receiving something from GOD that we don't deserve..

or,, ask your friend why he/she is feeling like that...
if she/he really loves GOD she will follow and avoid sins..
i told you,, avoid!!

For me the best verse was Psalm 38:9. My "counselor" told me to read it every morning before I even got up. It says, "All my longings lie open before you, O Lord, my sighing is not hidden from you." This verse lets her know that God already knows what she feels inside and that gave me hope just knowing that God cared when I got worried and that I didn't even have to say anything for Him to know it. Also, Matthew 6:34 talks about not fearing about the future because God is in control.

I would say she needs to read her bible, I've been there and it was when I became a new believer... I felt like fear, guilt and shame plagued me for months and It would never cease or let me go... I joined a bible study at moody church in Chicago and got involved in as many church activities I could. I read christian books like the Bondage Breaker by Neil T. Anderson. I read the purpose driven life by Rick Warren and watched/listen to Charles Stanley almost daily... I kept myself in the word, and Godly activities...It says in the bible seek godly things and evil will flee from you... (I paraphrased the scripture and can't remember the exact words to it or where it is in the bible, sorry) I also put my armor of God every day before I caught the CTA and right before I went to bed at night. tell your friend to read Ephesians 6:10, Psalm 37, and Psalm 91...

Living in fear is also not allowing God to be in control of your life... You need to step off your throne and put Jesu on your throne... Once I did that I would still get attacked by fear every once in a while, but I knew God was in control and I shall not fear for God knows all and I have faith in an awesome, powerful all knowing God... If I had to trust in anyone It is going to be someone who knows my heart and my future better than I ever could, that is what helped me through it and I hope this helps your friend :)

This is an excellent way to live and think of life. When you are letting God lead your every foot step, allowing your thoughts to be full of faith and not fear, this only allows God to have control of each and every aspect of your life. And when he has this kind of control there is only hope and light at the end of every pathway of life and darkness(fear) want be able to stand long at all.
